Interesting point, AQ. I tend to like the villians and you’re right. If they’re completely unlikable, they aren’t worth remembering.

I was telling my husband tonight that worst case scenario–Harry will talk Voldemort into turning good and everyone will live happily ever after. I think we are safe from that kind of cheesy ending.

I liked the conspiracies and secrets and that everyone had motives of their own And the historical/cultural bits, of course. I rarely think to mention that because it’s very rare for me not to enjoy those parts.

Had the same reaction to Evanovich, but maybe she was in an off-period when she wrote it. The best book to movie conversion I saw was The Hunt for Red October.
